Either semester. 206 STATISTICS I (3) Frequency di stributions, histograms, graphs, central tendency, variability, area under the normal curve, t-distributions, confidence intervals, chi square, correlation. 301 EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY (3) The application of social and psychological principles to the educative process; role of the teacher and learner; motivation, intelligence, transfer of learning, measure ment; influence of cultural values and American social structure on schools, school systems; recent, outstanding contributions in research and experimentation applying in the field . 302 ADOLESCENCE (3) The nature, needs, and problems of adolescence with special reference to the adolescent's search for identity. 304 STATISTICS II (3) Correlation methods, partical correlation, multiple correlation, analysis of variance for the fixed-effects model, non-parametric statistics, linear regression. Prerequisite: 206. 305 EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY (3) Principles and procedures of experimentation; application of those principles to actual laboratory research. Prerequisite: 206. 306 PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING (3) Introduction to the basic concepts of intelligence, aptitude, interest, and personality testing. Prerequisite: 206. 308 CHILD PSYCHOLOGY (3) The development of the child from conception to adolescence. Prerequisite: 206. (Fall semester.) 309 ABNORMAL PSYCHOLOGY (3) Discussion of the underlying causes of abnormal behavior, various types of behavior disorders, and modern the-rapies employed. 310 CHILD AND ADOLESCENT GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT (4) The physical, mental, €motional, social, and spiritual growth and development of the individual during childhood and adolescence. Techniques of studying these ages applied. Special consideration given to the social forces affecting behavior and to the mental hygiene and personality development of the individual. (For non-psychology majors.) 401 COMPARATIVE PSYCHOLOGY (3} Designed to acquaint the student with the sensory and neurological equipment and behavioral capacities of animals at various levels .
