403 PSYCHIATRIC NURSING I (3) Introduction to philosophy and scope of psychiatric nursing. The history and develop ment of current accepted theories in psychiatric care. 404 PSYCHIATRIC NURSING II (8) Clinical course for the student in Basic Nursing Program. Develops skills in the application of current accepted theories in psychiatric nursing; use of available community resources; study of needs and treatment of psychiatric patient and famil y. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 15 hours. Prerequisites: 402, 403. Laboratory fee: $10. 405 INTRODUCTION TO PUBLIC Hr.:ALTH (3) Philosophy and scope of public health st:ience. Application based on social character istics, patterns of health and disease of a community, preventive and control meas ures, community health education, r ehabilitation, related problems. 406 NURSING IN THE COMMUNITY (8) Provides the nursing student with theory and concurrent laboratory experience in schools, industry, and community health agencies; emphasis on philosophy of positive health, and skills in preventive and promotional procedures. Lecture 3 hours, labora tory 15 hours. Prerequisites: 404, 405. Laboratory fee: $10. 407 NURSING SEMINAR AND SURVEY (3) Critical analysis of studies in nursing services at home and abroad, and their relation ship to the development of the profession . Current trends in nursing education and practice. Seminar assignments of definite geographical area for comprehensive survey of nursing needs and services, including history and trends.
