A New Bike for Josiah MEET THE 2025 MOTORCYCLE GIVEAWAY WINNER
Every year, I team up with attorneys from across the country to do something big for motorcycle riders. Through the National Academy of Motorcycle Injury Lawyers (NAMIL) Motorcycle Giveaway, one rider walks away with the bike of their choice, worth up to $20,000. This time, that lucky rider is a Floridian who tossed his name in the hat last spring. Josiah Rule of Sarasota, Florida, is this year’s Motorcycle Giveaway winner. He entered the contests through MoeBiker.com back in April
after hearing me on 102.5 The Bone in Tampa. His entry was one of more than 15,000 submitted by riders across the country, all hoping for the same call. When his name was drawn, Josiah found out he would be the one picking out a new bike. He chose a Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special, a serious machine built for long rides and adventure. Josiah has been riding motorcycles for nearly 30 years, ever since he first got on a bike at 16, so he knew exactly what he wanted. I recently met him at Orlando Harley-Davidson to make it official. The keys were handed over, the paperwork was wrapped up, and Josiah got to fire up his new Harley for the first time. He was beyond excited for the new bike and couldn’t wait to get it on the road. For me, moments like that never get old. Being part of NAMIL and supporting this giveaway lets me share good news with someone who loves to ride. It is easily one of the most enjoyable things I do all year. If you entered this time and your name didn’t come up, thank you for jumping in. The number of entries says a lot about how strong and connected the riding community really is. And if you are reading this and thinking you should have entered, you may want to keep your eyes open. Plans are already in motion for the 2026 NAMIL Motorcycle Giveaway. Details will be announced through NAMIL, on MoeBiker.com , and in future issues of this newsletter. The process is simple. Just fill out a quick entry form online, and you’re in. There’s no fee, no catch, and no need to be a client. Every rider has the same shot once their name is in the pile. When entries open again, I want to see as many local riders as possible in the running. For now, join me in congratulating Josiah on his new Harley- Davidson Pan America. One quick entry in April turned into a brand-new bike in January. That’s a pretty solid way to start the year.
“When I first got the phone call that I won, I didn’t believe it. It didn’t set in. It was incredible. It was so exciting to know that I actually won something. I’ve never won anything like this before. It’s just … wow! It’s amazing.” –Josiah Rule

A NAPKIN SPARKS A LEGAL STORM Fast-Food Folly
There are several ways to become a millionaire in this country, but suing a fast-food chain over a napkin isn’t one of them. In 2014, a McDonald’s restaurant in Pacoima, California, became the focus of a national discussion on how the legal system addressed frivolous lawsuits. It all started with a customer named Webster Lucas, who complained to the manager when he discovered that he had been given only one napkin with his meal. Lucas claimed the manager had “developed a nasty attitude and mumbled a few words” before cursing at him. He also alleged that the manager’s behavior was racially motivated. The verbal altercation prompted Lucas to file a $1.5 million suit against the McDonald’s Corporation and the Pacoima store’s manager and general manager for (as reported by NBC News at the time) mental anguish, emotional distress, and discrimination. Despite being offered free food from the corporation to make things right, Lucas moved forward with his litigation.
Interestingly, this wasn’t the first time Lucas had sued a major restaurant for an unsatisfactory experience. According to court documents obtained by NBC News, he had previously filed two separate suits against Jack-in-the-Box without receiving an award for his claims. Additionally, he filed suits against Denny’s and Walmart, which were ultimately dismissed. Due to his habitual use of the California legal system, Lucas became known as a “vexatious litigant.” To earn this dubious designation, one has to file a minimum of five non-small claims suits that have been settled against them or have been pending for at least 24 months without a hearing or trial. Additionally, an individual can be deemed a “vexatious litigant” by repeatedly filing or relitigating meritless cases. Despite online reports to the contrary, court documents confirm that Lucas’ case against McDonald’s was dismissed by the end of 2014. Unsurprisingly, little has been heard of him in the California legal system since.
Big Screen, Big Laughs, Big Thanks A Look Back at Our Holiday Movie Night
This past December, we tried something new for our holiday party, and it turned out to be a big hit. Instead of rides or gators, we filled the Enzian Theater for a private screening of “Elf” and invited clients, former clients, and friends of the firm to join us. From the moment people walked in, it felt like Christmas. Families grabbed seats, settled in with snacks, and got ready for the movie. Every guest received free popcorn and soda, and
Bears, also dropped by to say hello and add to the fun. Between the movie, the cookies, Santa, and Shades, there was a lot to be excited about. This was our first time turning the holiday party into a movie night at the Enzian, and we loved how it came together. Thank you to everyone who made it out and helped us end the year on such a fun note!
cookie-decorating stations were set up so all the kids (and a few grown-ups) could create their own festive treats before the show. Santa made a special appearance and took time for photos, high fives, and a few Christmas requests. Shades, the mascot from the Orlando Solar

If you’ve ever dreamed of exploring a place so vast it dwarfs entire countries, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef should be at the top of your bucket list. Stretching over 1,400 miles along the eastern coastline, this paradise is larger than the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands combined! The Great Barrier Reef is home to dazzling coral gardens, colorful fish, giant clams, and six of the seven known marine turtle species. From snorkelers to skydivers, the Reef offers something unforgettable for every kind of adventurer. Underwater, the options are endless. Lizard Island is a snorkeler’s paradise where you can float above giant clam beds and glide alongside green turtles. Divers flock to Cod Hole for an up-close look at the Reef’s most famous marine residents, while those craving a more remote experience can hop aboard a dive ship to explore untouched corners teeming with biodiversity.
Prefer to keep your head dry? The 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands are perfect for cruising, whether on a bareboat charter or a luxury superyacht. For a show-stopping perspective, consider a scenic helicopter transfer to the Outer Reef . From the air, the patterns of coral, tiny secluded islands, and

Snorkel, dive, or relax on the Reefworld platform, then enjoy a barbecue as the sun sets. When night falls, snuggle into your floating tent under the stars or take a night dive to see the reef glow in a completely different light. Thrill-seekers, take note: Mission Beach offers a jaw-dropping skydiving experience over the reef and surrounding rainforest, plunging from 15,000 feet with expert guides to ensure an unforgettable ride.
