VERTICAL 3 — GENDER AND INCLUSION
The gender gap in African tech is not a pipeline problem. There is no shortage of women with ideas, with ambition, or with enterprises already running. The gap is structural - in access to capital, in investor networks, in the kind of targeted support that turns a good business into a great one. RevUp Women Initiative was designed as a multi-level response to these structural barriers - not as a mentorship programme or a grant scheme, but as a coordinated ecosystem intervention operating simultaneously at the level of the founder, the hub, and the investor.
RevUp Women Initiative: 459 Founders, Real Results
In 2025, RevUp supported 459 women founders across Nigeria and Cameroon, working through 13 innovation hubs and engaging over 50 women mentors. The programme was funded by the VISA Foundation, which recognised in RevUp a model that went beyond individual support to shift ecosystem conditions.
The evidence is in specific businesses, not aggregate statistics.
