Note:

Students who select a liberal arts major may count only a total of 30 units of Bible and Doctrine toward the required units for a degree. Any liberal arts maj or may also take as electives a maximum of six units in Christian Education and/or Missions. The maximum limit for recognized correspondence courses in Bible is six units.

Part-time students (less than 12 units per semester) are required to include at least one Bible or doctrine course within each 15 units completed at Biola College unless the 30 unit Bible requirement has been met. Part-time students seeking a degree from Biola College must complete the entire Bible and doctrine requirement as outlined above. General Education Requirement It is the purpose of the general education requirement to introduce the student to areas of study that mature the mina, open new vistas of appreciation and understanding, enrich social relationships , and develop skills and aptitudes that can aid the student in furthering his personal and social usefulness. Since it is the purpose of a liberal arts education to create a broad base upon which to build one's continuing education, the student is allowed to select from the following courses to build his own base in the liberal arts. The courses that meet the general education requirement are the following: COMMUNICATIONS Any performance course in communications (speech) fulfills the general education re­ quirement. This includes 101, 105 , 144 , 205, and 212. Permission of the instructor is required for any other course to meet the general education requirement. ENGLISH * 1 IO Studies in Criticism and Composition 6 units *A grade of A in either I JOA or I !OB exempts the student from taking the other semester and completes the requirement. FINE ARTS Any one of the following courses will meet the rine Arts requirement: ART 100 Art Introduction 3 units MUSIC 101 Introduction to Music 3 units ENGLISH 450 Advanced Studies in Literature: Drama (with consent of department) 3 units
