Torah Reading - All Middle School students have an opportunity to read the Torah in Hebrew in front of their peers. Holocaust Remembrance Student Presentation - Student-created readings. All-School Seder - Preschool on up…p rior to Passover Break. Purim Carnival - Dress up in costume for the day and the school-wide reading from the Book of Esther. Book Clubs - Café Book Club. 40-Book Challenge - Many students have accomplished this annual challenge. Overnight Trips: 5 th Graders Greene Family Camp 6 th Graders Texas Trip (4 nights/5 days) 7 th Graders New York City/Washington DC (one week) 8 th Graders Israel Mission Trip (2-½ weeks). Lower School Yom Sport Day - a day of fun outdoor athletic challenge activities. Middle School Yom Sport Day - a day of fun outdoor athletic challenge activities. Student Congress - Our student leadership team in the Middle School places community service as a top priority (see section below on Student Congress) and determines much of what they are mandated to do once elected. Electives Program (for Middle School students): Band, Cooking, Makerspace, Environmental Studies, Gardening, Coding, STEM Homes and Structures, Money and Finance, Studio Art, Cars Gears and Wheels, Leaders in Training, Robotics, Debating. In addition, numerous grade level curricular-related projects that are a part of an ongoing exhibition of student work throughout the year . We also have a full athletic department that includes inter-scholastic sports competitions for Middle School students. Another option available to all students is our ever-popular Educare Program which takes place after school hours, whereby students can be involved in an extensive listing of offerings each semester. (The Educare Program is detailed in our Self Study Levine Academy has a community service requirement for all Middle School students. The minimum requirement is 10 hours per year. Students typically will discuss their projects with their advisors, if they wish to pursue these community service opportunities individually, but also advisory groups as a whole like to organize community service off campus to enhance bonding within their advisory groups and to elicit interest in both collaboration and community service.
