PA (Parent Association) meetings in addition to guest speakers, such as Dallas Police, are utilized on campus for their wealth of information and helpful tips navigating the young childhood and adolescent technology usage. In addition, assemblies and meetings with students during the day on campus address age-appropriate topics concerning technology usage and cyber safety. Members of the Levine Academy staff as well as the Parent Association present webinars and presentations on technology topics of interest throughout the year that are available both to parents and Levine faculty and staff. Levine Academy seeks to build bridges and open the communication pathways between students, faculty, and parents by presenting this information in a targeted delivery system to several different community groups. In terms of internal cyber safety and security, Levine Academy outsources risk assessment and management of information and data systems by utili zation of a third- party company, HBR Technologies. Through the use of constant reevaluation yearly or cyclically in some form, we aspire to critically analyze the appropriateness and relevance of our software tools regularly and ensure Levine is on target, and that our responses are an appropriate match to our environment. Instructional Technology Levine Academy employs a full-time instructional technologist on staff. This position involves collaboration with faculty and staff to promote assistive technology use in the classroom. Collaboration includes troubleshooting, professional development, and regular advisement on technologies for the classroom for all faculty and staff members. In addition, this position in 2020-2021 was accountable for the advent of the virtual learning experience in response to the pandemic; this entailed frequent updating of Zoom schedules via Schoology, troubleshooting technology with parents and students at home, and assisting teachers in the classroom with their assistive technologies needed for teaching virtually. We seek to establish a timeline of evolvement for this position moving forward. An assessment of our needs from an instructional technologist, and how these needs can best be met, in addition to the creation of regular professional development workshops for staff, and relevant training and assistance for the instructional technology specialist, remain our top priorities.
