Professional Development for Staff and Faculty Levine Academy begins each year with a several -day training period, which allows for faculty and staff both returning and new to attend relevant professional development and training. This includes both traditional Professional Development sessions as well as technology focused Professional Development. Levine Academy in addition has a Professional Development workshop day, every year after the winter holiday break. Professional Development at Levine has evolved to become a partnership between administration and staff where options are discussed, and PD is tailored to meet the individual needs of the staff member(s). In addition, all software PD is held in small groups or workshop form instead of on large professional development days to ensure more personal attention and hands on time with the software being introduced or explored. This PD can be seen throughout the academic year, in venues like small faculty meetings, grade level meetings, or one-on-one tutoring. Technology Literacy for Students Levine Academy strives to provide grade-level appropriate technology literacy for all students K-8. This is accomplished in various ways. First and foremost, the digital curriculum that Levine Academy employs for each grade level of instruction has targeted instruction that addresses technology literacy at all grade levels for each subject. This delivery can be seen in various formats throughout the variety of grade levels and subjects on campus. Examples include digital research instruction and experience in lower school in the elementary grades, as well as middle school grades, and computer math literacy games and activities for K-8 level grades. In addition, lower school students participate regularly in a formal typing curriculumprogramonline. In middle school, students utilize graphing calculators in mathematics, google drive and google suite in all classrooms, and now utilize Schoology to digitally track progress in class grades, create and turn in assignments, and complete tests and quizzes online.
