• Private School Art Invitational (Dallas Area) • The Sukkah Project, presented by the Texas Jewish Art Association

• Students are engaged in collaborative art-making experiences with classmates and sometimes the entire Levine community. Every year, grade level collaborative artwork is donated for auction at the annual Gala fundraising event. • Students participate in special art projects that highlight Jewish culture, traditions, and history, which are coordinated with Levine Jewish Studies programs. • Students visit local art museums and galleries to explore relevant exhibits. • Visual Arts and Language Arts teachers work together to publish an annual literary magazine called VISIONS . This publication features original creative writing and artwork produced by students throughout the school year. • Professional Development and Resources: • The Visual Art teacher attends varied local and national art education conferences. • The Visual Art teacher participates in an optional mentoring program offered by Levine’s Dean of CurriculumDevelopment. Goals, achievements, and areas of improvement are monitored through private weekly meetings and periodic classroom observations. • The school maintains annual membership in a comprehensive online arts education venue that provides unlimited professional development as well as a full range of classroom resource materials ( The Art of Education, https://theartofeducation.edu/). Facilities and Equipment Assets — Visual Arts • Designed by a professional artist and art educator, the art room is well organized and equipped with a full range of supplies and equipment. The studio is functional, spacious, and beautiful, featuring a generous studio work space, a demonstration area, a reading/library area, a kiln room, a wheel throwing/ceramic storage area, a darkroom, a supply storage room, a recycling storage area, shelving and flat files for student work- in-progress, and abundant natural lighting. • Technology holdings include two student computers, a laptop and color printer for the teacher, a document camera, and a large television screen for viewing images. • Studio equipment includes two electric kilns, three pott er’s wheels, a tabletop intaglio printing press, and a full-sized clay slab roller. There are ten separate worktables for student use, each seating one to four students. Music instruction, curriculumdevelopment, and school music programs are directed by a Music Education Specialist. Band and Show Choir Directors offer instruction in their respective specialties.
