Beginning with the 2021-22 school year, a revised curriculumwill teach fifth graders how to develop and practice Creative Thinking Skills . This course will highlight methods of generating original ideas, understanding the creative process, and producing art that is authentic and personally meaningful. Students will also learn creative thinking skills that extend beyond the art room. This course will require fifth graders to have a full year of art instruction. Plans and priorities for future development — Music • Increase lower school music, choir, and band to two 30-minute classes or one 45- minute class weekly). • Offer a Choir option for third and fourth graders. • Add more consistent participation in local and state music competitions for students. • Develop and publish an original music education curriculum/resource center featuring Jewish music (inspired by the Music Play Online platform--https://musicplayonline.com/) • Work with school administration to plan improvements for the music classroom, storage areas, and performance facilities.
