Self Study Report

▪ A recent study of our MAP and ERB scores (a study conducted in December of 2020) indicated that we are making a great progress improving the math scores of our weakest students, while we are only achieving marginal improvement among our highest scoring students. This indicates that we need to focus more attention on our highly capable students. Action Steps to Address Challenges: ▪ Establish a priority of focusing on support to those teachers needing to improve in the area of addressing the needs of the highly capable math students. ▪ Analyze the MAP test scores following all three testing phases during the year, in order to pinpoint students who need support and to identify the subset of the Common Core Math concepts needing reinforcement and extra attention in the lesson planning among teachers. ▪ Seek ways to develop the culture of mathematics at Levine, such as organizing student engagement with regional and national competitions, seizing on visual software to help strengthen numeracy and operations, and to promote successful math accomplishments in our school-wide celebrations and traditions.
