SELF STUDY REPORT ON MISSION STATEMENT
Recent Evolution of the Mission Statement: Ann & Nate Levine Academy has evolved robustly over the past eleven years, having completed three Strategic Plan processes during this time - in August of 2010; in January of 2015; and in March of 2019. For each of these board-generated and multi- constituent strategic discussions, the school’s Mission Statement has been the primary launch document. In addition, these strategic planning phases have also been occasion to review and revise our Mission Statement. Here are the last three Mission Statement revisions and ratifications: --Approved Aug 7, 2010 Mission Statement: Levine Academy is an inclusive Conservative Jewish day school which inspires a passion for learning and graduates confident, ethical Jewish citizens and leaders. --Approved May 18, 2016 Mission Statement: Ann & Nate Levine Academy - an inclusive, dynamic Jewish day school - fosters creativity, critical thinking and intellectual curiosity and graduates confident, ethical Jewish citizens and leaders. --Approved March 28, 2019 Mission Statement: Ann & Nate Levine Academy is an inclusive, dynamic Jewish day school which fosters leadership, creativity, critical thinking, and Jewish values while empowering its students with integrity, self-confidence, and intellectual curiosity. Mission Statement Reflected in Character of the School: The two initial modifying words in the school’s current Missi on Statement - “inclusive” and “dynamic” - do reflect the character of the school today. The board’s Strategic Plan listed inclusivity as one of the four main pillars, alongside Academic Excellence, Financial Sustainability, and Early Childhood Education in the 2019 Strategic Plan. During the 2018/2019 strategic planning process, the Inclusivity Committee drafted an important document called “Inclusivity Declarations,” whereby the first statement in the single-page document stated, Levine Academy’s commitment to diversity is all -
