Self Study Report

Ongoing Challenges • Because the Mission Statement is not a static document, the administrative team and the Board see an opportunity in revisiting the ideals and entertaining new ideals that the Mission Statement does not currently maintain. • There is some concern among the school’s stakeholders, lay leaders, and school professionals that a future iteration of the Mission Statement may need to recognize the school’s efforts to nurture individual growth, to care for families in our community, and to honor those students who exhibit a priority toward the spiritual. • The school sees that the concept of Inclusivity demands additional explanation and definition, beyond that which the school investigated during its 2018/2019 strategic planning process. Action Steps under Consideration • Give priority to the school’s curren t aim to conduct workshops across all constituents on the concept of Respect, Inclusivity, and Equity. This commitment was initiated in December of 2020, and has become the major goal for our professional development over the past year. • Other Mission Statement concepts, such as creativity and critical thinking, ought to be a top priority for the school’s teacher training priorities going into the 2021/2022 school year. • The concept of Inclusivity, which needs to be investigated as outlined in our Challenges above, also must become an action item as we consider bolstering the school’s reputation beyond our customary Jewish community clientele.
