Self Study Report

Our committee looked at our programming and the environment in our classes holistically. In other words, how do we as a team build upon each other and how does this link with Levine's Mission and Graduate Profile? We were able to dig deep by asking a series of questions, which are listed below. From these findings, we determined our core strengths, weaknesses and challenges. Then we prioritized for future growth. We study people and events in history that led to upstanders, phenomenal leadership, and real world struggles. In addition, there are times we must teach students how to think critically about changes that should have been made possibly to prevent certain events. ● Responsibility roles are given in class. From taking care of self, environment and others, each instance provides students an opportunity to lead. ● Independence is fostered in class as much as possible. Independence is paired with responsibility. How does our Mission support leadership in students? ● How does our Mission support creativity in students? ● We use projects to promote creativity. Many are open-ended or include a choice board. ● We use events such as Grandparents Day, Open House and the 2nd grade parade to show off our creativity.

How does our Mission support critical thinking in students? In our classes, you will observe these methods being used: ● Class discussion ● High level questioning ● Deductive reasoning ● Reflections on learning ● Research ● Interpretation of graphs, maps, charts, etc.

How does our Mission support Jewish Values in students? ●

With the rigor, we provide a certain level of work ethic is required.
