Self Study Report

Challenges • Curriculumneeds to be aligned per grade. Vertical planning. • Students need more accountability and consequences when appropriate. Strategic Goals • Align curriculum across grades. In Social Studies, we need to be sure that specific topics are being covered and related skills are weaved into these units. Our goal is to align our curriculumand integrate where applicable. • As a community, we feel behavior is connected to citizenship and leadership. As teachers, we are doing our utmost to empower students. However, to be more successful in this area we feel students need to be held accountable with consequences. Currently, we do not feel that all students are meeting our expectations for ‘integrity’ and having school -wide expectations for behavior and set consequences team wide would help all teachers to fulfill their obligations to our Levine Mission. Some ideas included earning trips/using themas positive enforcers and having concrete policies with firmconsequences for behavior. We need to do more to empower our students, as not all are leaving Levine as leaders or reflecting our values in terms of integrity, self-confidence, or intellectual curiosity. Accountability, united with firmness and fairness with consequence across the school team would be the goal.
