This course must be completed before a degree in elementary education or music education will be granted. A seminar of one hou r per week is included in the course requirements. 406. HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION. (3) A general survey of the philosophical and historical foundations of the American school system an analysis of social processes and interaction patterns in educational organizations. 420. COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. (2) A study of the role of the teacher in guidance, techniques of counseling, and a consideration of the total guidance program.
