Corequisite: Ed 4-03 APPLIED MUSIC Private instruction is offered in the following: organ, piano, voice, brass instru ments, string instruments, woodwind instruments, and accordion. *191 a. PIANO CLASS I. Six to ten students. For the student with little or no previous training who desires to study applied music. *192a. PIANO CLASS II. Continuation of 191a. *191b. VOICE CLASS I. Same description as 'I 91 a. *192b. VOICE CLASS II. Continuation of 191b. Applied Music Requirements for Applied Music Maiors. The rrummum number of earned units shall be 34. Students whose principal instrument is organ, piano, or trumpet will take 32 units of the principal instrument and two electives. Applied Music Requirements for Church Music and Music Education Maiors . The minimum number of earned units shall be 12. Students whose principal instru ment is: 1. Organ: 8 units of organ, 2 of voice, 2 electives 2. Piano : 8 units of piano, 2 of voice, 2 electives 3. Voice: 8 units of voice, 2 of piano, 2 organ 4. An orchestral instrument: 8 units of the principal instrument, 2 of voice, 2 of piano or organ. *Not allowed for credit toward the applied music requirements of the Music Majors. MUSIC ENSEMBLES* Biola Chorale. (3 hours weekly, 1 credit per semester.) Performance of choral works representing various styles and periods . Open to all students by audition. Instrumental Ensemble. (3 hours weekly, 1 credit per semester.) Rehearsal and participation in concert programs. Open to all students by audition. Oratorio Chorus. (3 hours weekly, 1 credit per semester. ) Performance of larger choral works. Open to all students without audition. 53
