DOUBLE MAJOR A student may be graduated with two majors. The following information is for those pursuing two majors: All pre-requisites, supporting courses and departmental requirements for each major must be completed. The second major must have a minimum of 18 upper division units unique to that major The student must confer with the departments in which he will major and with the registrar. MINORS Although Biola College does not require the student to have a minor for graduation, there are a number of instances in which a student may wish to take a minor, especially in planning for a career in teaching. By checking the various departments of the catalog, a student may determine if a minor is offered. A minor usually requires a minimum of 18

Note: Students who select a liberal arts major may count only a total of 30 units of Biblical Studies and Theology toward the required units for a degree. Any liberal arts major may also take as electives a maximum of six units in Christian Education. The maximum limit for recognized correspondence courses in Bible is six units. Part-time students (less than 12 units per semester) are required to include at least one Biblical Studies and Theology course within each 15 units completed at Biola College unless the 30 unit requirement has been met. Part-time students seeking a degree from Biola College must complete the entire requirement as outlined above. General Education Requirement It is the purpose of the general education requirement to introduce the student to areas of study that mature the mind, open new vistas of appreciation and understanding, enrich social relationships, and develop skills and aptitudes that can aid the student in furthering his personal and social usefulness. Since it is the purpose of a liberal arts education to create a broad base upon which to build one's continuing education, the student is allowed to select from the following courses to build his own base in the liberal arts. The courses that meet the general education requirement are the following: COMMUNICATIONS 3 units The following speech communications courses fulfill the general education requirement: 100, 170, 181 , and 280. Permission of the department is required for any other course to meet the general education requirement.

1. Completion of all academic requirements and approval of the student's graduation petition by the major advisor and the registrar. 2. A minimum of twenty-four units must be taken at Biola College, including at least fifteen units {upper division level) in the major field. 3. A "C" average (or a 2.00 grade point average) is required on all work taken at Biola College, and within the major field. 4. Attendance at one Intersession is expected. SPECIAL NOTE: All graduation requirements may be met within four school years by carrying approximately 16 or 17 units each semester. A student may still be graduated within four years if he wishes to take a lighter load and will enroll in summer school. Biblical Studies and Theology Requirement Biola College is committed to a strong Biblical emphasis. A firm foundation in the Word of God is imperative for all God's servants, regardless of what type of ministry they may enter. A total of 30 units of Biblical Studies and Theology must be included in the program of each student according to the requirements of the American Association of Bible Colleges. Each student must take at least one course each semester until he has fulfilled the requirement. The following are required:

160 Introduction to Drama, or 450 Advanced Studies in Literature. Drama (with consent)

FOREIGN LANGUAGE B.A.: 4 years of a high school language, or 3 semesters of college language. B.S.: 2 years of a high school language, or 1 semester of college language. Exceptions to this policy are noted under the appropriate departments. International students for whom English is a second language need not take a foreign language.
