AIR FORCE ROTC

Through arrangements with the University of Southern California both the two and four-year Air Force ROTC programs and two, three, and four-year scholarships are available to qualified men and women attending Biola College. Both aptitude and physical examinations are required. Scholarships cover costs of enrollment, books, and a monthly subsistence allowance. The subsistence allowance is paid also to non-scholarship cadets enrolled in the two-year program and in the last two years of the four-year program. Freshman men and women may enter the four-year program by enrolling in the first year Aerospace Studies Course (ASlO0) at USC. Students desiring the two-year program should apply early in the fall of the year prior to the year in which they wish to enter. Qualified students who are physically qualified and plan to enter pilot training receive 25 hours of free flight instruction during their last year in the program. Academic credit is granted for AFROTC courses in accordance with institutional policies governing transfer credit. The programs lead to commissions as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force Reserve. Note: Four-year

scholarships must be applied for before December 15 in the year prior to entering college. Interested students should call the Air Force ROTC office at USC, (213) 746-2670.

BIOLA COLLEGE EXTENSION

Biola offers regular college-level Biblical studies in extension centers to serve the Christian community more fully than is possible when restricted to the La Mirada campus. All courses are identical to those taught on the home campus and are staffed and administered by Biola College and taught in rented facilities . Centers are currently located in Escondido and the San Fernando Valley - more are in the process of being established . The extension center programs enable Christian students to supplement community college or other higher education studies with collegiate level Bible instruction for balance in their education. Further, many students anticipate future transfer to Biola and desire to have completed some of the required Bible coursE'.work prior to on-campus matriculation. Additionally, many Christian laymen desire to enrich both themselves and their ministries by enrolling (either for credit or as an auditor) in these extension courses. Students not currently enrolled at Biola College or one of its extension centers must file an application for admission to the extension program. The doctrinal statement found in the current Biola College catalog is the same one used at the school's founding and is adhered to without mental reservation by our administration , faculty and staff. This is now extended to new locations. Further information may be obtained from: Director of Extension Biola College 13800 Biola Avenue La Mirada, CA 90639

INTERSESSION

To facilitate the completion of graduation within four years and also to allow exposure to creative learning and to enrich students' academic programs, the college has instituted an Intersession program in January. Students are expected to attend one Interses sion during their four years, unless they are excused. Rooms are provided for continuing students at no extra cost, and tuition charges are approximately one-half of the regular school year. A balanced program of general education , Bible, and innovative courses is offered on campus for upper and lower division stu dents. Opportunities also will be given to participate in winter sports and travel abroad. Class schedules for Intersession 1979 will be available May 1, 1978. For further information please write to the Director of Intersession.
