The Holidays Are Here! SPREADING SOME HOLIDAY CHEER
The holidays are here and that calls for hot cocoa, much needed time spent with loved ones, holiday movies, decorations, and some of the best times of the year. Thanksgiving and Christmas are certainly favorites in the Welch household — we love to celebrate together with our loved ones. Each year, we enjoy a big, traditional Thanksgiving with both of our families. It’s always fabulous to catch up with family members we haven’t seen in a while and to bond over a delicious meal — not to mention yummy pecan pie, which is our favorite dessert! In our opinion, one of the best places to go for Thanksgiving is Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The atmosphere and vibe are magical

attend a Christmas Eve candlelight service and open up new pajamas before bed — it’s a tradition. We always cook together and share a Christmas meal with turkey, sweet potato casserole, corn casserole, homemade gravy, and mashed potatoes. Baking in the Welch household is a must for the holidays! It’s a fun time to make cookies together as a family. Some of our favorites are peanut butter- chocolate-oatmeal no-bake cookies and little pecan snowballs. One year, a friend made us Polish cookies, known as kruschiki cookies. They were so delightful that my mom learned how to make them, and we have them every year. This month, on Veterans Day, we also like to take some time to pay tribute and offer gratitude to the men and women of the armed forces who made huge sacrifices for our freedoms. Many of us have friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors who have served in the military. Their dedication is a gift we can never repay. My father, Dr. Bobby Welch, is a Purple Heart recipient and a VietnamWar veteran. I am truly appreciative of his bravery and service for our country. and always make for a great holiday getaway experience. Plus, it’s nice to witness a true changing of the seasons, something we miss out on here in Florida! One of our favorite things about the fall season is college football! As an Auburn University graduate, I love supporting my team. In our house, college football is always on. Whether it’s Florida, Auburn, or Georgia, you can guarantee we are tuned in. Although Auburn is struggling a bit this year, we are tried and true and always support our Tigers! We even put up an Auburn Christmas tree each year in addition to our usual tree — we are orange through and through! Christmas is a very special holiday for our whole family. Along with warm, fuzzy feelings, we enjoy exchanging gifts and kicking back and relaxing with each other. Every year, we

The Only The Importance of Hiring L
By now, you should have an idea of what you want your business to achieve in 2022, but have you considered how you will grow during that year — and the impact that could have on your business? Often, entrepreneurs and business leaders take on the identity of their companies, but in order to personally thrive and see their companies take off, they have to grow right alongside it. 3 GOALS EVERY ENTREPRENEUR NEEDS IN 2022
The holiday season is here, and oftentimes, in preparation for gatherings, parties, and events in their homes, people will have some work done on their house or property. Whether it’s redoing the walkway, putting up Christmas lights, trimming the trees, cleaning the roof, or redoing a bathroom, make sure that whomever you are hiring to get the job done is licensed and insured — you’ll thank yourself later. Let’s say, for instance, you hire a friend or a kid in the neighborhood to trim the hedges, but they don’t have the proper equipment to get the job done. So, you lend them your hedge trimmers, but they end up accidentally cutting their finger. Now, because that person you hired was not licensed and insured, you are liable. Or, imagine that your home becomes damaged while a contractor is working on it, but they are not licensed. What now? You’re responsible. Keep in mind that the cheapest option is not always the best option. While it may sometimes be easier and more cost-effective to hire someone who isn’t licensed and insured, such as a friend in the neighborhood, you are doing yourself a disservice if you do. When a contractor is insured, they are covered by workers’ compensation in the event of an injury. Also, in the event that a
To do so, consider these goals all entrepreneurs must focus on at some point in their careers.
Goal No. 1: Get a Life You are more than the company you started. Plus, having hobbies or personal interests outside of your work can help you excel in work. It allows your brain to grow in new ways, sparking fresh ideas and perspectives. Consider activities that you’re interested in learning more about — like painting, podcasting, reading, or running — and get started. Maybe you’ll fail, but just keep trying! You may find a new activity that brings you the joy you need. Goal No. 2: Save More Many of the dimes you earn as a business owner go back into the company, but don’t forget to consider your future. Is your retirement plan in order? Do you have a plan should your company need to close? Will your family be secure? Consider these questions and hire a trusted financial advisor who can help you find personal investment success. Goal No. 3: Meet New People Becoming inundated by daily, menial tasks can make us miss opportunities. This is where meeting new people can be so valuable! By doing so, you create a network of people who have different experiences than your own. They can help you see beyond your biases and discover a new path. Who knows? You just might find the next great venture for your company!

If you live in a middle-class or wealthy neighborhood, you probably have multiple options for internet providers. However, in rural towns and underfunded areas, Americans can be limited to only one or two internet provider options. With such a limited selection, these providers can often charge any kind of price they want. But what if smaller volunteer groups could provide high-speed internet for affordable prices? That’s exactly what volunteer network NYC Mesh is doing! Inexpensive Community Internet May Be the Future GUERILLA WI-FI

Licensed and Insured Workers
problem occurs with the work performed, when they are licensed, they are easily traceable, especially because they likely pay taxes every year.
It goes without saying that, typically, when a business is licensed and insured, they are also much more experienced and professional than those that are not. They understand the rules, and they follow them. To protect yourself, your home, and your property, opting for a licensed and insured professional is always the right way to go!
How It Works A fiber connection is the gold standard for internet providers; however, NYC Mesh finds that using “fixed wireless” options, like rooftop routers, can deliver a signal strong enough for residential use. It’s also much faster and cheaper to deploy than a fiber connection. For residents who are still nervous, NYC Mesh not only has a subsidized option for installations but also a low suggested monthly donation of $20–$60. NYC Mesh is one of many fixed-wireless groups in New York City — another small for-profit, Starry, which is a Boston-based start-up, is rolling out flat-rate internet plans for $50 a month in large urban markets across the country, including New York City. And the principle is the same: to provide more affordable internet options to the nearly 46% of impoverished U.S. households without a home connection.

For now, it’s safe to say that community Wi-Fi is here to stay. The Internet Master Plan released by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio offers free use of rooftops on public buildings and street light poles to providers, large and small, to build their network infrastructures. This is a huge boon to grassroots groups like NYC Mesh, which depend on rooftop access for installations. Like other fixed-wireless Wi-Fi connections, many households have been pleased with NYC Mesh. Some even raise their monthly donation after signing on just to support the cause. Although some community Wi-Fi solutions are crushed under regulation and corporate interests, it seems like DIY internet technology continues to adapt and evolve.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ANIMAL LIABILITY INSURANCE
Over the holidays, you may be planning to have family and friends over while you host celebrations. If you are a homeowner with a dog, you should double check your home insurance policy to make sure you carry animal liability coverage. If your pet injures someone, you may be held liable for their medical bills and other damages. Animal liability coverage protects you if your dog or other pet hurts someone or causes any other damages. This type of coverage is third party, meaning that it compensates others, not members of your household or yourself, when accidents happen. Animal liability insurance also protects the policyholder if another party tries to sue following an animal bite. Check over your homeowners policy to make sure it contains animal liability coverage. If it doesn’t, have you reached out to your agent to ask about a stand- alone animal liability policy?
Here at The Welch Group, we just had a friend call with concerns about a dog bite that occurred in their neighborhood. Needless to say, the dog owner did not have animal liability insurance, and the little girl who was bitten needs to see a plastic surgeon, which will be an expensive medical bill. Keep in mind that even if your dog is extremely friendly and may never bite, accidents happen. For example, if your dog gets excited to see a guest and jumps up on them, knocking them to the ground, you can still be liable for the injuries they sustain. The holiday season is chock-full of gatherings and festivities, so if you have a dog, understand that animal liability coverage is not automatically included in your policy. Contact your carrier today to double check your policy!
