DEGREE REQUIREMENTS The Bachelor of Arts Degree. This degree is offered with majors in the follow­ ing: Art, Bible, Christian Education, Communications, Diversified (see Educa­ tion Department), English, History, Humanities, Music, Physical Education, Psychology, Social Science, Sociology, and Spanish. Bible and Christian Educa­ tion require 126 units and the others 138. The Bachelor of Music Degree. This degree is offered with majors in Applied Music, Music Theory and Composition, Church Music, and Music Education, and requires 142 units. The Bachelor of Science Degree. Thi s degree is offered with majors in Biologi­ cal Science, Business Administration , and Mathematics, and requires 138 units. This degree is also offered with a major in Nursing which requires 148 units. DOUBLE MAJOR A student may be graduated with two majors. The following information is for those pursuing two majors: Most majors require at ieast 30 units of credit All pre-requisites and supporting courses for each major must be completed The second major must have a minimum of 18 upper division units unique to that major The student must confer with the departments in which he will major and with the registrar :MINORS Although Biola College does not require the student to have a major and a minor for graduation there are a number of instances where a student may wish to take a minor, especially in planning for a career in teaching. By check­ ing the various departments of the catalog a student may determine if a minor is offered. REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL BACCALAUREATE DEGREES 1. At least one year in residency. This means that as a minimum the final twenty-four units must be taken at Biola College. 2. A "C" average (or a 2.00 grade point average) is required on all work taken at Biola College. 3. Attendance at graduation immediately following completion of requirements. Bible and Doctrine Requirements Biola College is committed to a strong Biblical emphasis. A firm foundation in the Word of God is imperative for all God's servants, regardless of what type of ministry they may enter. A total of 30 units of Bible and Doctrine must be included in the program of each student according to the requirements of the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges. Each student must take at least one Bible course each semester until he has fulfilled the Bible requirement. The following are required : BIBLE: 101 Early Hebrew History 3 units 102 Later Hebrew History 3 units 201 New Testament Literature I or 3 units { 303 New Testament History I 33
