California State Scholarships The State of California makes hundreds of scholarships available to students who have a high grade point average and who score high on scholastic aptitude tests. Awards are usually given for full tuition, however financial need is also given prime consideration. Application must be made in November for partici pation in the following September. Forms are available through High School counselors or Biola College.

GRANTS Educational Opportunity Grants

This program supported by the federal government is designed to assist stu dents from low income families. The gross family income must be less than $9,000 a year to qualify. These grants range from $400 to $1,000 per year, but the amount of the grant must be matched by a scholarship or loan. (For example, if the student is eligible for $700 E .O.G., he must also receive a $700 loan or a $700 scholarship or a combination of both.) Nursing Scholarships These scholarships are available to declared Nursing majors only. This scholar ship is unique in that it is based on need, rather than academic achievement. Qualified nursing students may receive up to $1500 per year. Student Aid Grants These funds are for students who demonstrate exceptional rieed; whose contri bution toward the school is above average, or whose parents are missionaries or ministers. A reserve is kept to assist students who encounter financial diffi culty throughout the year.
