Limited to seniors. Offered on demand. DOCTRINE Objectives. The primary objectives of the doctrine courses are (1) to give the student a thorough grasp of all the major doctrines of the Word of God; (2) to correlate the whole into one defensible system which will form a solid foundation for the understanding and intelligent use of the Bible; (3) to promote warm Christian experience and spiritual maturity. The approach to all areas of doctrinal study is Biblical rather than philosophical. The method of study is dispensa­ tional, and the viewpoint is clearly premillennial. Special attention is given to the problems of liberalism and modern cults in their doctrinal aspects. The lec­ ture method of study is followed and reference is made to the Biblical languages. Reading in standard theological works is required. 101 BIBLICAL FOUNDATIONS (3) Doctrine of the Scriptures as inspired by God, a completed revelation in the books recognized as canonical, illumined to believers by the Holy Spirit, the incorporation The doctrine of God, His existence, unity, trinitarian distinctions, attributes, decrees, and works; the doctrine of angels, Satan, and demons; God's prophetic program from the standpoint of the Dispensational and Covenant schools with emphasis upon the dispensational approach. 302 DOCTRINE OF CHRIST, THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND SALVATION (3) The person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ and of the Holy Spirit; attention given to doctrinal departures in these areas and other themes related to salvation. 401 DOCTRINE OF THE CHURCH (3) The doctrine of the Church, its origin, ordinances, and organization, with careful consideration given to denominational distinctives and the theological issues which underlie its mission.
