(2J An explanation and demonstration of the methods of preparing and presenting Biblical material , including ways of leading the pupil to an intelligent acceptance of Christ as Sav iour. Designed for Christian Ed__!:1~a~ion majors. 104. BIBLICAL BACKGROUNDS. (2) A geographical survey of the ancient Bible world together with a study of customs and manners in Bible times. 201. SURVEY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION. (3J Introduction to the field of Christian education to acquaint the student with its scope, functions, problems and vocational opportunities. 204. FIELD WORK. (0) Personal and group conferences on th e practical Christian service of the Christian Education maj or including visitation, reports , and evalua­ tion of church curriculum materials. 301. ORGANIZATiON AND ADMINISTRATION. I 3 1 A fun ctiona l study of the total educational program of the local church. 302. HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION. (3) A survey of the histori cal and philosophical progress of Christian education , tracing the importance of Chris ,ian leadership through church related ed ucationa l movements with special study of present trends. Designed to aid student to form a Biblical philosophy of Chris­ tian education. 303. TECHNIQUES AND MATERIALS. (3) Instruction in and preparation of lessons for classroom presentation. Classroom theory and demons trat ion of teaching skills, methods of instruction for various age levels and investigation into curriculum and other resources. Study of evange li sm in the teaching experience. 304. DAILY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL AND HANDCRAFT. (2) The plan , purpose, and organization of the D.V.B.S. program, planning around a central theme. Collection of practical material and instruction in correlated handwork. 310. CURRICULUM IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION. (2) Revi ew of basic principles of curri culum construction and use of repre­ sentative litera ture in the Christian education field. Includes evaluation and construction of materials for various age groups according to individual needs . 401. CHRISTIAN EDUCATION OF YOUTH. (2) Special consideration of Christian education in its application to the adolescent.
