BIBLICAL STUDIES 47 Bible-Missions Progrcim. This program combines a major in Bible with electives taken under the direction of the Department of Missions. These electives include Missions 301, 302; Philosophy 311; Anthropology 301, 302; and Linguistics 331. / Social Sci ence-Missions Progrcim. This program consists of 30 units, of which 24 must be upper division, in the Social Sciences: 18 units from History or Sociology and 6 units from two of the following areas: History, Sociology, or Anthropology. History 418 and 419 are required. The following supporting courses are re­ quired: Linguistics 331, 332; Missions 301, 302, 401; and Philoso­ phy 311. The student is urged to consult the Director of Missionary Activities when planning his course of study. Department Minor. The missions minor shall consist of 18 units including Missions 301, 302, 401, 403; History 418; and Philosophy 311. Course selections will be made under the guidance of the department. Under the titles of other departments Biola College offers three courses which it considers to be directly related to mission s: Bibl e 301; History 418; and Philosophy 311. The Biblical foundation and theological issues of the mission given to the church in today's world. 302 MISSIONARY PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES. (3) Missionary life and work as related to modern missionary theory and practice in today's world. Special consideration to techniques and methods of church planting, growth, and ex­ pansion in both primitive and urban areas. 301. THEOLOGY OF MISSIONS. (3)

The history of the Jews, their festivals and customs, their fundamental beliefs; effective methods of evangelization.

401. SEMINAR ON MISSIONS. (3)

A practical course integrating and correlating the student's missionary study with special consideration given to current issues facing missions today. Prerequisites: Bible 301; History 418; Missions 301, 302.

403 COMPARATIVE RELIGIONS. (2)

Modern religious movements from source materials present­ ing the actual teaching of the founders and leaders with emphasis upon corresponding teaching of the Bible.
