Investigation into the history and objectives of camping with special emphasis on the organization, administration, and supervision of camping. Areas to include programming, health and safety, finances, food-service, and maintenance of property, buildings, and equipment. The objectives of camping, counselor personality and quali­ fications, and the application of counseling techniques .to the camping situation. Preparation in various camping activities, crafts, and special program areas particularly related to counselor-centered camping.

Techniques of camp leadership, programming and counseling. Required attendance at weekend training conference.

404. CARE AND PREVENTION OF ATHLETIC INJURIES (Men). (3)

Theory and practice of principles and techniques pertaining to athletic conditioning, injuries, bandaging, and massage.

405. ADAPTED PHYSICAL EDUCATION. (3)

Analysis of the principles underlying the physical education program for the handicapped. Survey of specific disabilities and the implications of each for physical education.

406. TESTS AND MEASUREMENTS IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION. (3)

Lecture, laboratory and fie ld experience in the development, evaluation and application of tests in health and physical education. Use and interpretation of elementary statistics. PSYCHOLOGY Ob.i ective. All courses in psychology taught at Biola College have for their ultimate purpose the better understanding of human nature and, through this understanding, greater adequacy in deal- ing with its problems. ·· There is a definite attempt to afford points of contact with biology, philosophy, theology, history, and sociology.
