Student Aid As funds are available, the College awards grants-in-aid to needy students from the Student Aid Fund. This fund is maintained by gifts from friends of the College. Students are not required to repay the College but are expected to per petuate the fund by their own contributions when they have completed school This will provide funds for others who are in need. RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS All students under 25 who are not married or living with their parents are required to live in the residence halls. Any exception must be approved by the office of the Dean of Students prior to registration. Students living on campus are required to carry a minimum of ten units . Living in the residence halls is governed by regulations designed to promote harmony and well-being among the residents. Cooperation in these regulations is important in maintaining one's student status. THE RESIDENCE HALLS Rooms accommodate two students and are equipped with individual study desks, single beds, and individual wardrobe closets and chest of drawers. Each residence hall has laundry rooms equipped with metered washing machines and driers. Students are expected to supply their blankets, bedspreads, and electric irons; however, neither irons nor any c0oking equipment may be used in students' rooms. Each dormitory unit is supervised by a qualified Head Resident aided by Resident Assistants, who are specially selected upper division students. HOUSING FOR MARRIED STUDENTS Although Biola College does not have on-campus housing facilities for married students, apartments are rather easily obtained within the area. A number of married students live either in La Mirada or some of the immediately surround ing communities, such as Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, Norwalk, and Whit tier. The Dean of Students Office maintains a file on available housing. Biola College attempts to aid married students coming into the area by helping them to obtain used furniture inasmuch as most apartments are unfurnished. A trailer for moving furniture within the local area only is available from the college for a nominal fee. DISCIPLINE Biola College is dedicated to the training of young people who are sincere and earnest in their desire to live for Jesus Christ. Because this is true, students are expected to give evidence of conduct consistent with such a profession. The disci plined life is consistent with the Biblical model for a Christian. At the time of admission, each student enters into an agreement with the College to be responsible for certain details of activity and conduct. Students whose atti tudes prove to be uncooperative are asked to withdraw from school. 40
