PHILIP SUTHERLAND, Chairman Objective: All courses in psychology have for their ultimate purpose the better understanding of human nature and greater effectiveness in dealing with its problems. Department Major: The Department of Psychology offers a major in Psychology designed to prepare students for graduate school studies in one of the fields of psychology. Major Requirement: 33 units beyond the general education requirement (205), 24 of which must be upper division, including 204, 210, 306, 310, 405, 416, and 470. Science Requirements: Biology 305 in addition to 8 units of general education science and/or math.
