Special observation scheduled for students taking the course. 406. HYGIENE METHODS. (2) A course designed to teach techniques essential in health education on the elementary school level.

Obiective. The 0bjective of this Department is to train students for library work in Bible Schools, colleges, and seminaries as well as to aid prospective teachers, pastors, Sunday school workers, and missionaries in library organization and pro cedures. Instruction and practice are provided in the three branches of Library Science: classification, cataloguing, and circulation. Requirements for a Minor in Library Science. Seventeen units are required for a minor in Library Science. Students completing the minor receive a certificate. 301. LIBRARY SCIENCE I. (2) Classification and cataloguing; a discussion of the history, principles, and prac tice of classification; a study of book numbers and methods of cataloguing. Discus sion of subject headings, analytics, and cross-references. Making and filing of prac tice cards according to rnles for library filing. 302. LIBRARY SCIENCE II. (2) An introduction to books, authors, and publishers in relation to book selection and the principles underlying the choice of books for specialized and general libraries. 303. LIBRARY SCIENCE III. (2) Classification and cataloguing of theologi cal material planned to meet the needs of Seminary students. 401. LIBRARY SCIENCE IV. (4) Theory and practice, with desk practice, audio-visual aid classification and cataloguing, and practice in library filing. Cutter tables, call numbers. Use of Library of Congress cards. Minor book repairs. 402. LIBRARY SCIENCE V. (4) Advanced classification and cataloguing with special emphasis upon Bible College and Bible Institute libraries.
