JAMES R. HILL, Chairman Objectives. The objectives of the Department of Music are (1) to provide competent instruction in the field of music, (2) to offer specialized training for students desiring professional preparation in applied music, church music, music theory, and music education. In addition to the regular College entrance require­ ments, students entering the Department of Music as music majors or minors must take two additional tests: the Aliferis Music Achievement Test and the Kwalwasser-Ruch Test of Musical Accomplishment. These tests are given during orientation week prior to registration for the fall semester. Students un­ able to make a predetermined minimum score on these tests will be admitted as music majors and minors on probation and must take Music 51 their first 63 Entrance Requirements.
