missionary project of several thousand dollars each year, presenting the annual Missionary Conference, and organizing missionary prayer groups, students are made aware of worldwide missionary opportunities. The Student Missionary Union also sponsors a special missions club which meets once each month. The purpose of this club is to give to those interested in both home and foreign missions an opportunity to hear and to discuss matters of spe­ cial interest in the Church's program of outreach. ASSOCIATED STUDENTS The Associated Students of Biola College, of which all students are members, has as its stated purpose: "to direct student affairs and to promote the interest and welfare of the students." The Associated Students' Council is composed of twenty-one members from the executive and legislative branches of the government. The Council includes from the executive branch the President, Vice-President, Business Manager, and Sec­ retary. Within the legislative branch there are the presidents of several organizations: Student Missionary Union, Biola Men, King's Daughters, and each class. The leg­ islative branch also includes Board Chairmen (Athletics, Social Affairs and Tra­ ditions, Cultural Arts, College Union, Community Relations, Publications), a Ill Parliamentarian, and three Representatives-at-large. A three-member Judicial Board exists to review decisions made by Council. Members of the Associated Students' Council have their offices located in the College Union Building. They convene weekly to discuss business, resolve con­ flicts of interest, and initiate programs. Apart from the specific functions of Board Chairmen and Organization presidents, Council members are responsible for formalized dialogue with the administration and faculty of the college in convey­ ing the consensus of the students. Also a Courier of coming events is published weekly and secretarial services are provided for all organizations through the Associated Students' Offices. The Associated Students are responsible for three chapels a week and an Inter­ Club Council, consisting of representatives from each club on campus. STUDENT PUBLICATIONS The Student Body sponsors two student publications: a weekly newspaper, the BIOLA CHIMES; and a yearbook, the BJOLAN. These serve to keep a record of school life, to interest young people in the College as a place of healthy activity, and to inform the friends of the school of items of current interest. KING'S DAUGHTERS AND BIOLA MEN The women of the school are bound together in spiritual fellowship as daughters of the King. This organization, the King's Daughters, exists for the purpose of promoting fellowship and friendship. To this end they plan various means of becoming acquainted and conduct evening meetings in the residence halls. The corresponding organization for the men of the school is known as Biola Men. Their program is similar to that of the King's Daughters. 41
