201 INTRODUCTION TO CHRISTIAN EDUCATION (2) Introduction to the field of Christian Education to acquaint the student with its scope, functions, problems, and vocational opportunities. Either semester. 301 ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION (5) A functional study of leadership, administration, and the organization of the total educational program of the local church; examination and application of principles of administration to various Christian Education programs. 302 CHRISTIAN EDUCATION OF CHILDREN (5) Practical application and evaluation of the organization and administration, curricula, program planning, methods, and audio-visuals employed by the church and other agencies. Prerequisite: Psychology 310. 306 CHILDREN'S WORK IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION (2) Organization of materials and records used in the Christian Education of Children. (Not open to Christian Education major s.) 307 MUSIC AND WORSHIP IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION (2) Designed for Christian Education majors. Techniques of song leading, teaching new musical materials and the place of music in the educational work of the church; evalua­ tion of worship materials to develop appreciation and skill in their use. Alternate years, offered 1970-71. 309 YOUTH WORK IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION (2) Organization of materials and records used in the Christian Education of Youth. (Not open to Christian Education majors.) 310 ADULT WORK IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION (2) Organization of materials and records used in the Christian Education of Adults. (Not open to Christian Education majors.) 401 CHRISTIAN EDUCATION OF YOUTH AND ADULTS (5) Principles and practice in the administration and organization of various programs for youth and adults; examination of needs, curricula, programs, methods, and audio­ visuals used by church and other agencies; includes worship, counseling, recreation, and stewardship. 402 HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION (3) A survey of the hi storical and philosophical progress of Christian Education, tracing the importance of Christian leadership through church related educational movements with special study of present trends. Designed to aid students to form a Biblical philosophy of Christian Education. 403, 404 SEMINAR: DIRECTED FIELD WORK (2, 2) Practical experience in the areas of the student's vocational interest with faculty counseling and supervision. 405 GROUP COMMUNICATION (3) A survey of contemporary communication theory including general semantics and group dynamics; leadership, group process, and interpersonal relations in the small group. ( See Speech 405.) 406 MISSIONARY EDUCATION IN THE CHURCH (2) Procedures and materials available for all age levels in missions education; mission­ ary projects designed for children, youth, and adu lts.
