Objectives: The objectives of the Art department are (1) to promote pro­ ficiency in a specialized area for a pro­ fessional art career, (2) to develop adequate intellectual foundations and technical skills to pursue advanced study in Art. Department Minor: 20 units, of which 12 must be upper division. The stu­ dent must complete lower division courses 101, 103, 105, 201, and the remaining units from the following: Drawing, Painting, Watercolor, De­ sign, Art History. 101 ART APPRECIATION (3) Designed to promote an appreciation of painting, sculpture, and architecture, as well as the graphics, industrial, and dec­ orative arts; comparative study of styles, periods, and artists. Prerequisite for all subsequent art courses. Either semester. 102 GREAT MASTERWORKS (3) An analytical view of major artistic 1111 achievements in painting; group and in­ dividual projects. Fee: $8.00. Either se­ mester. 103 DRAWING I (2) Basic drawing to study form, perspec­ tive, and composition. Fee: $2.00. 104 CRAFTS (2)
