Objective. The obj ective of this department is to acquaint the student with the principal problems and issues of philosophy, historical and contemporary. The courses in philosophy are designed to contribute to the general education of the student, to aid him in reflective thinking, and to contribute to an under­ standing of the persistent problems of our culture.
