Everyone struggles with the definition difference between calving ease or low birthweight. Our view is that calving ease means small calves is the goal – low birthweight is typically “small but not too small”. M50 is a low birthweight bull that would be suitable for use on large, growthy heifers and moderate size cows. Very solid pedigree. Everyone, and we mean everyone, has a high level of respect for the Bieber Hard Drive genetic line of cattle. The sire of M444, G612 is no exception. On the dam’s side the Red Cockburn Ribeye sire was one of the most attractive bulls you would ever see. This genetic package is uniquely special. Sometimes EPDs out of old school genetics and Canadian bloodlines simply do not wash through the EPD whopper with jaw dropping results. The algorithm simply does not compute sometimes. Study this bull closely, if you are a seedstock producer that loves good looking, high performing cattle but are not infatuated with outrageously high EPDs this might be your best pick. If you are a commercial cattle producer – he will simply produce some of the best looking calves you will ever raise.
