required to include at least one Biblical Studies and Theology course within each 15 units completed at Biola College unless the 30 unit requirement has been met. Part-time students seeking a degree from Biola College must complete the entire requirement as outlined above. General Education Requirement It is the purpose of the general education requirement to introduce the student to areas of study that mature the mind, open new vistas of appreciation and understanding, enrich social relationships, and develop skills and aptitudes that can aid the student in furthering his personal and social usefulness. Since it is the purpose of a liberal arts education to create a broad base upon which to build one's continuing education , the student is allowed to select from the following courses to build his own base in the liberal arts. The courses that meet the general education requirement are the following: COMMUNICATION 3 units The following communication courses fulfill the general education requirement: 100, 170, 181, 220, and 280. Permission of the department is required for any other course to meet the general education requirement. ENGLISH 6 units 110 Studies in Criticism and Composition Students with an SAT of less than 400 must

units, 12 of which should be upper division. REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL BACCALAUREATE DEGREES
1. Completion of all academic requirements and approval of the student's graduation petition by the major advisor and the registrar. 2. A minimum of thirty units must be taken at Biola College , including at least fifteen units (upper division level) in the major field. At least one half of these 30 units (15 units) must be completed within the last 24 units counted toward the degree. Extension credit or credit by examination may not be used to fulfill the minimum residence requirement of 30 semester units. 3. A "C" average (or a 2.00 grade point average) is required on all work taken at Biola College, and within the major field. 4. Attendance at one Intersession is expected. SPECIAL NOTE: All graduation requirements may be met within four school years by carrying approximately 16 or 17 units each semester. A student may still be graduated within four years if he wishes to take a lighter load and will enroll in summer school and/or intersession. Biblical Studies and Theology Requirement Biola College is committed to a strong biblical emphasis. A firm foundation in the Word of God is imperative for all God's servants, regardless of what type of ministry they may enter. A total of 30 units of Biblical Studies and Theology must be included in the program of each student according to the requirements of the American Association of Bible Colleges. Each student must take at least one course each semester until he has fulfilled the requirement. The following are required:
take and pass Basic English Workshop within the first year of residence (before English 110). If a student wishes to challenge his SAT score he may take a Diagnostic Test administered by the English Department. If he fails this test, he must take Basic English Workshop.

B.S.: 2 years of the same high school language, or 4 units of college language. Exceptions to this policy are noted under the appropriate departments.
