PHILOSOPHY

Delbert J. Hanson, Chairman Objective: The objective of this department is to acquaint the student with the principal problems and issues of philosophy, historical and contemporary. The courses in philo­ sophy are designed to contribute to the general education of the student, to aid him in reflective thinking, and to contribute to an understanding of the persistent problems of our culture. Department Minor: 18 units, of which 12 must be upper division. The student must select 301 and two courses from 302,303, or 404. 102 LOGIC (3) Deductive and inductive inference and the analysis of language. 202 INTRODUCTION TO PHILOSOPHY (3) The problems, methods, concepts, outlook, and divisions of philosophy . Either semester.
