T he .word Hawaii is synonomous with sunshine and palm trees and expanses of sand and surf, exotic flowers' and lazy relaxation. It’s a magic word that to most people means the kind of vacation they’ve always wanted. Now for the first time Christians across America will be able to com bine the world’s finest vacation with an evangelical Bible conference. For years outstanding Christian leaders have been conducting Bible confer ence tours but (aside from two small Alaskan cruises out of Seattle.) none have been conducted from the. West coast. The Bible Study Cruise to Hawaii is headed by Dr. James Martin, pas tor of the Chevy Chase Baptist Church 16

of Glendale, Calif. Three of Southern California’s best-known evangelical ministers are hosts — Dr. J. Lester Harnish, Temple Baptist, Los An geles; Dr. J. Henry Hutchins, Lake Avenue Congregational, Pasadena and Dr. J. Vernon McGee, Church of the Open Door, Los Angeles. Dates for the Hawaiian cruise are next Jan. 12-27. Transportation going will be by United DC6 with the return on Matson’s luxurious Lurline. The 10 days on the Islands will be spent at the famous Moana Hotel on Waikiki Beach. There will be morn ing and evening Bible study with the day free for relaxation. (For those interested, please see ad on inside back cover. — ED.)
