O ne of the great Christian statesmen of our day, A. W. Tozer, has said that Christians “ have accepted one another’s notions, copied one another’s lives and made one another’s experi ences the model of their own.” To not conform has all-too-often meant religious suicide in the eyes of the brethren. The bitter truth of Tozer’s observation has stilled the voice of many evangelical leaders, but for brilliant Bible scholar and outspoken editor Keith L. Brooks the path be fore him was always clear: Stand for what you believe even if it means the loss of all in the sight of man. And stand he did. Last month Keith L. Brooks died on his 67th birthday. “ The Blood, of the Martyrs The Seed o f the Church•”

CHR ISTIAN W ITNESS IN TH E HOLY LAND Q— What efforts are being made to evangelize Jews in the Holy Land? A__1 A very fine conservative but effective missionary effort is being put forward by missions supported by the different Protestant denominations of Europe. 2 Several non-denominational missions from Europe and America are actively engaged in spreading the gospel by preaching and the distribution of tracts. 3 Independent and free-lance missionaries who carry on an aggressive evan gelism and personal work. 4 Individual believers who quietly and persistently, in spite of ostracism and persecution, witness to all with whom they come in contact. Q__Are there any instances of opposition and persecution? A—There are only a few isolated cases of opposition and persecution, but it seems lately to have intensified in scope and practice. Recently two missions, one Roman Catholic and one Trotestant mission, have been raided by small mobs and damage done to their property. Hebrew Christians have been pelted with stones, beaten, stabbed and threat ened. Orthodox ™ and women have organized an anti-conversion society with the avowed purpose of breaking up Christian missionary activities. Q__What is the Scott Mission doing to help Hebrew Christians in Israel? A—We are sending food and financial aid to Hebrew Christians who suffer from persecution and discrimination. Now is the time to evangelize the people of Israel. It is just for such a time that you and I have been called by God to proclaim the glorious gospel of Jesus the Messiah, the only Saviour and Redeemer of the world. Let us go forth hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder,— all united in prayer for a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Jewish people everywhere. Dear Brother Zeidman: Please send me free of charge your literature on Jews and Judaism.
