The business community plays a vital role in the work we do at Southeast Service Cooperative. Through initiatives like STEM Forward and FutureForward TM we connect thousands of students each year with local employers, colleges, and hands-on learning opportunities. These experiences help students explore career paths, develop critical skills, and understand the opportunities available right here in southeast Minnesota. our region, including an annual Student Welding Competition, Mobile Science Career Labs, STEM Day at the Fair, Discover Healthcare, Lead CTE Network, and more! SSC’s FutureForward TM offers a free online platform that connects students with local employers and mentors across Minnesota. Businesses can create a free profile to showcase their industry, offer classroom presentations, facility tours, job shadowing, or internships - and help students discover the many rewarding career paths available right here in our region. By engaging with FutureForward TM at www.futureforward.org, local employers can inspire the next generation of talent and strengthen the future workforce that keeps southeast Minnesota thriving. What’s an interesting fact about Southeast Service Cooperative that most people don’t know? Many people are surprised to learn that Southeast Service Cooperative helps bring some of the region’s favorite regional student programs to life! SSC coordinates regional competitions for Math Masters, Spelling Bee, and Knowledge Bowl, giving students a chance to showcase their academic skills and represent their schools at the regional and state levels. Our region’s Spelling Bee winner even gets to compete in the Scripps Spelling Bee on ESPN in Washington D.C.! We also host Young Authors, Young Artists Conferences for elementary and middle school students, offering the opportunity for students to participate in active, motivating, idea-generating sessions taught by professional authors, illustrators, and other artists. Together, these programs highlight SSC’s commitment to supporting learning, creativity, and student growth beyond the classroom.
