youth move on to pursue marine science degrees proves that CARES is a direct academic pipeline, en- suring that the next generation of researchers is diverse, experienced, and personally in- vested in ocean solutions. Conclusion: Inspiring the Future Solvers: The DWP/CARES Youth Diving Program stands as a practical, scalable response to the complex challenge of human-impacted cli- mate change. By fusing rigorous youth devel- opment with tangible ecological restoration, we offer a model for converting declining ecosystems into massive carbon sequestration centers managed by a diverse, passionate, and professionally trained workforce. Our work with key part- ners in the Florida Keys and our expansion throughout the Caribbean Basin is a testament to our commitment to scale this solution. Our hope is simple: to provide our youth ad-

taught by DWP/CARES and our partners like Key Dives, is not merely recreation; it is to ex- plore the almost never-ending series of relation- ships that exist beneath the surface consciously and respectfully. We inspire divers to view their certification as a license to understand the ocean's intricate systems and to explore ethically. The training equips these young advocates not just with a passion, but with the specific, techni- cal skills required to secure high-value jobs. The certified skills acquired directly lead to careers in: Dive Industry and Ecotourism: Partici- ▪

Cline Group’s 3rd Quarter 2025 Global Dive Business Survey Results Preview In Q3 2025 U.S. dive retailers re- ported a total of 50,910 new diver certifications , up sharply from 37,032 in Q3 2024 – a 37% increase . However, 81% of re- spondents still rated their shop’s performance as “same or less” versus 2024. This indicates that the increase was driven by a rela- tively small number of high-vol- ume retailers, while the majority saw flat or declining results. The report notes this disparity and emphasizes that total-industry growth (certifications) doesn’t necessarily translate into broad- based improvements at individual shops.
