with him. There are many of us who know and love the Lord Jesus Christ; we know how to have our sins forgiv en. We know we are going to heaven when we die. Yet somehow we are not prepared for the battle of life. There are so many fears, anxieties, and frus trations. Because we aren’t pre pared, we usually panic and thereby lose the joy and blessing of our sal vation. T here is another personal and practical question I want to ask you. Are you prepared? It wasn’t so long ago that I was speaking at a college briefing con ference in California. One young man came to me and explained that he was in a seminary and preparing for the ministry. His visit had a note of desperation as he came late one night. In his explanation he declared, “I ’m ready to be ordained. I know both Greek and Hebrew. I am well versed on all the doctrine and have no trou ble preaching. But my one great prob lem is that I am unprepared to set out on a life’s work of preaching the Word of God. It’s not that I ’m shy or nervous, but I ’m worried about moving into areas of life where there are spiritual problems and also domes tic difficulties. I know all the prom ises and Scriptures, but have you truth you could give me so that I could pin my soul on it and begin my life’s ministry in the service of God with a sense of preparedness?” This was a frank and revealing ad mission for one who is going to be a man of God. What a thrill to talk
