2017 Spring MOMENTS

A MESSAGE FROM PRECIOUS MOMENTS CREATOR, SamButcher

Dear Friends,

Now that Spring is near, I’ve found myself thinking about the Song of Solomon in the Old Testament. I believe it is one of the most beautiful books in the Bible. Although it consists of no more than eight chapters, it unfolds with a beautiful story about a groom and his lovely bride. The setting is in a garden and the time is in early Spring. The groom is a picture of Jesus and the bride is his church or body of believers. He speaks to her in loving words and begins with a heartfelt invitation. “Rise up, my darling! Come away with me, my fair one! Look, the winter is past, the rains are over and gone.” Many people have tasted the upheaval of the figurative winter’s storm and how it can destroy anything in its path. The world that we live in can seem so cold at times. Disappointments, betrayal and loneliness like a winter’s storm can bring us down and bury us beneath its weight. But then, we hear that still small voice of Him who says, “Rise up my fair one and come away, come out of the storm and take my hand and I will give you rest.” In chapter 2, verse 12, the curtain closes on the past and opens again with these reassuring words, “For the flowers appear on the Earth and the singing of the birds has come.”

The moment He takes us by the hand and leads us into His garden, we are bathed in the light of Spring. And you, my friend, can also experience that same Heavenly light when you step out of the storm and into His grace like His eternal bride who says: “My beloved is mine and I am His. He feedeth among the lilies.”

Sincerely in His love,

Sam Butcher
