ORFOLK, VA — Vir- ginia Beach developer Lawson wi l l com- mence construction at 630 Tide- water Dr. in Norfolk. The former U.S. Post Office on the corner of Tidewater Dr. and Brambleton Ave. will be the site of Market Heights Apartments, a 164-unit Low Income Housing Tax Credit affordable housing community. Market Heights is an inclusive community with 80 units meet- ing universal design require- ments, 12 units reserved for residents with developmental disabilities, and 17 ADA units offering fully accessible homes N

Harbor’s Edge CEO and de- veloper Neil Volder , Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Alexander and J ohn Lawson , executive chairman of W.M. Jordan , the general contractor, made comments during the ceremo- ny to thank the construction workers, the city and architect Clark Nexsen for the hard work and dedication they have provided to help bring the tallest residential building to Norfolk. River Tower at Harbor’s Edge is transforming the Norfolk skyline. The tower will add 147 luxury residences with open floor plans. Its first-class amenities will be expanded to include four new dining venues, all with Executive Chef Beat Meier at the helm. More than 95,000 s/f of common space will be added including a $100,000 profes- sional golf simulator, a luxury spa and salon, a fitness center with personal training and wellness programs. “The new 24-story River Tower, when it opens next summer, will assure that Harbor’s Edge will continue to be the pre-eminent LifeCare® Community in the South- east,” said Volder. “While 78% of the units have been reserved, there are still great units with terrific views and floorplans available.” Mayor Alexander stated, “The River Tower expansion at Harbor’s Edge has brought payroll exceeding $11.4 mil- lion and over 400 jobs to the city of Norfolk.
