CONNECTIONS
DELICIOUS NEW IDEAS
Our Edison culinary educators spent an exceptional day at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, exploring one of the nation’s premier culinary education programs.
The visit included a detailed admissions presentation, two live demonstrations led by CIA faculty chefs, a Q&A portion, networking opportunities, and a guided tour of the CIA’s impressive campus. During the demonstrations, instructors observed advanced culinary techniques, professional kitchen workflows, and the expectations that define CIA’s renowned programs. They also met with faculty and students to learn more about industry trends, postsecondary opportunities, and the skills needed for success in the culinary and hospitality fields. The experience directly supports Edison’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway in Culinary Arts by strengthening curriculum, expanding industry connections, and helping teachers bring real-world relevance back to their classrooms. Teachers returned with new inspiration, fresh lesson ideas, and a deeper understanding of how to help students build the mindset, skills, and confidence needed for success beyond high school.
