Woodbrook Elementary students participated in a creative challenge sponsored by JPMorgan Chase: design a “dream app” that could help others, solve a problem, or spark joy. The “Make It Happen” App Design Competition encourages young learners to explore technology, think creatively, and imagine how innovation can make a positive impact. Grade 1 winner Nyra and Grade 5 winner Apaar had the opportunity to see their app visions come to life when JPMorgan Chase volunteers visited Woodbrook to present the awards and celebrate their achievements. We thank the JPMorgan Chase volunteers for their partnership and for supporting student creativity.
Congratulations to John P. Stevens teacher Mrs. Pittenger on receiving the American Chemical Society Hach Grant. The grant is being used to acquire chemistry equipment that will deepen instructional practice, strengthen laboratory-based inquiry, and promote scientific literacy through hands-on investigation. The new resources will broaden opportunities for students to engage in authentic experimentation and apply scientific concepts within real- world contexts. This award underscores the innovative work occurring within our science program and reflects our educators’ ongoing commitment to advancing high- quality STEM education.
