Once an Eagle, always an Eagle, and Brian Phuong, Class of 2018, has certainly carried that spirit with him. During his senior year, Brian asked to borrow one of the school’s sewing machines. He was permitted to take it home with the understanding that he would return it when he no longer needed it. About a year later, he brought the machine back, thanked the school for he opportunity, and shared his goal of starting a clothing company. Today, Brian is the cofounder of VALE, a clothing brand with locations in Texas, SoHo, and Jersey City.
His designs have been worn by notable artists, including Cardi B, and he has since built a life rooted in family and community. Brian recently reached out with a desire to give back to the school that supported him in his early creative journey. He noted that his donation is a way to honor the encouragement he received at Edison High School and to help current students realize their own potential. His contribution will go to the EHS Co-Curricular Fund, where it will support students who face financial barriers in pursuing their interests and passions. Thank you, Brian!
