Poleke. ¡Vivir es sonreír! Poleke: Smile! Enjoy Life! Guus Kuijer (text) Agata Raczynska (illustration)
Poleke is eleven years old, loves cows and writes poetry. Her boyfriend brakes up with her because she is a poet, her father gets into serious trouble, and the worst is that her mother becomes her teacher's girlfriend. Poleke feels as if she should take care of the adults, but a gift from life brings peace and joy back to her.
The end of elementary school brings some changes for Poleke: she begins to feel curious about kissing her boyfriend, jealous about her friend, and scared about her dad having a drug problem. Amidst these worries, she finds refuge in poetry and her little calf; she knows it is possible to confront difficulties with a smile.

Poleke. La felicidad llega por sorpresa Poleke: Happiness Comes by Surprise Guus Kuijer (text) Agata Raczynska (illustration) As Poleke grows into adolescence, the meaning of her world becomes more complex and the incomprehension of others easily irritates her. However, her new friend Consuelo shows her the value of sharing while overcoming adversity and disappointment.
Poleke. A donde te lleve el viento Poleke: Wherever the Wind Takes You Guus Kuijer (text) Agata Raczynska (illustration) Poleke does not understand why her father has to travel to Nepal to find himself. She does not need to go far away to know what she wants in life: to be a poet. However, Poleke discovers that some situations surpass human will and that sometimes we must let ourselves be carried away by the wind to find forgiveness and accept our losses.
¡Yo soy Poleke! I am Poleke! Guus Kuijer (text)
Eugenia Cano and Agata Raczynska (illustration) Poleke is very sad because her grandad recently passed away. Even though she was by his side until the last minute, the grieving process has not been easy. Her boyfriend is on holiday in Morocco and she feels that the adults around her don't get her. However, her Mexican friend, Consuelo, shares the tradition of the Day of the Dead with her. Together they visit the cemetery where they experience a very touching moment. She then realizes that love is an eternal bond that keeps us united with those that we cherish, even if they are gone.
