STRIVE LOCATION
is the creation of a community of alumni and employer partners who continue to support and uplift our mission. 3. What about STRIVE’s work makes you most proud? What makes me most proud is witnessing the personal growth of our participants—seeing individuals walk in with doubt and leave with confidence, credentials, and a clear sense of direction. STRIVE doesn’t just train people to get jobs; we empower them to build careers and lives they’re proud of. The pride comes in watching transformations unfold right in front of us—and knowing that our work plays a part in breaking generational cycles.
Additionally, increased competition among workforce providers for limited grants and employer partnerships can challenge sustainability. There's also the risk of burnout among staff due to the intense and emotional nature of the work if internal support isn't maintained. 3. Are there any gaps in our current work or process that we should work to fill? Yes—while STRIVE does an excellent job with career readiness and soft skills, we could expand by offering more sector-specific technical training or certifications in high- demand industries like healthcare, IT, and logistics. Additionally, post- placement support could be enhanced to ensure job retention and career advancement. Strengthening alumni engagement and feedback loops could also help us track long-term impact more effectively and adapt our programming to evolving participant needs.
building stronger partnerships with employers and expanding access to certifications and emerging industry training, STRIVE can help participants not only get jobs—but grow into careers with upward mobility.
2. How would you translate our vision into tangible outcomes?
STRIVE’s vision of transforming lives through career development can be translated into outcomes such as: -Increased Certifications Earned – Ensuring participants leave with industry-recognized credentials that lead to living-wage jobs. -Expanded Program Access– More individuals served across multiple communities, especially those most underserved. -Reduced Barriers – Measurable reductions in participant challenges (transportation, childcare, digital access) through wraparound supports. -Career Pathway Creation Formal pipelines into industries with opportunity for growth (e.g., logistics, healthcare, tech).
3. What about STRIVE’s purpose are you most passionate about?
What I’m most passionate about is STRIVE’s unwavering commitment to giving people a second chance—and sometimes a first real one. The mission speaks to dignity, hope, and transformation. We serve individuals who are often counted out, and we treat them like professionals from the moment they walk through the door. Watching someone go from discouraged and overlooked to confident and employed is incredibly powerful. That human transformation—through opportunity, belief, and support—is the heart of what makes STRIVE so special.
4. What makes STRIVE’s work unique?
STRIVE’s work is unique because of its holistic approach. We combine high expectations with high support, creating a culture of accountability, community, and empowerment. From day one, our participants are treated as professionals in training— not clients or cases. We don’t just
