What does STRIVE really excel at? STRIVE truly excels at delivering comprehensive, life-changing training programs for individuals facing a wide range of employment barriers. What sets STRIVE apart is its unwavering commitment to long- term support, offering not just job readiness but a lifetime of care, encouragement, and empowerment. Across all programs and locations, the mission is clear and consistent: “We Care.” This ethos is embedded in every interaction, laying the foundation for trust and transformation. What do you consider STRIVE's greatest accomplishments? One of STRIVE’s most significant accomplishments is its remarkable longevity and growth—sustaining impact for over 41 years while expanding services nationwide. This endurance is a testament to the organization’s relevance, resilience, and results. Beyond the numbers, our greatest achievements are reflected in the lives we’ve helped change—individuals who have overcome obstacles, secured meaningful employment, and built lasting careers.

Community alignment: Growing Awareness of Equity and Inclusion: There is a heightened societal focus on dismantling systemic barriers in education, employment, and community development—core areas where STRIVE operates. STRIVE practices of equality and fairness is a welcome change and rewarding for our students. WE GIVE THEM HOPE! Threats: Policy Shifts: Changes in local or national policies related to education, workforce development, or social services could limit access to resources or create new barriers. Also, some staff may face burnout or resource limitations, affecting the program delivery of support services. Gaps: We are currently operating with lean staffing levels, which often requires leadership to step in and support day-to-day operations. In New York City, attracting and retaining skilled talent remains a challenge due to a highly competitive labor market and the demand for specialized expertise.

What should STRIVE achieve for its future: Integrated Support Services: Establish comprehensive, in-office wraparound services—including licensed social workers and housing support specialists—to address the root causes of employment barriers. Scalable Program Models: Develop and replicate high-impact program models that can be adapted to diverse communities while maintaining quality and outcomes. Long-Term Career Pathways: Move beyond job placement to long-term career advancement by offering upskilling, credentialing, and leadership development opportunities.

On Track - Enrollment Metrics: Consistently meeting or exceeding enrollment targets across programs. Community Demand: Sustained or increasing volume of leads, applications, and referrals, signaling strong community trust and relevance.

Vision to tangible outcomes:

Stability Beyond Employment: Track and address post-placement barriers to ensure participants achieve long- term stability, not just job placement. Holistic Success Metrics: Define success not only by employment but also by improvements in quality of life, such as secure housing, mental wellness, and financial independence. Career Advancement Pathways: Monitor how many participants move from entry-level roles into higher-paying, growth-oriented careers.
